Are driver tips required?

I appreciate Baldor's now offering home deliveries.

Can you eventually include some electronic means of tipping the driver (like Instacart)? Given that most communities are under shelter-in-place orders, that makes it difficult to go to an ATM to get cash (which increases my chances of getting the virus on a heavily used ATM).

And I'm sure the driver would not want to have their tip possibly be the thing that gets them sick.

Maybe somehow provide the driver's own Venmo account when they are assigned to deliver to an address?

    Hi Jamie Wang,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We understand you concern and appreciate your kindness. I've relayed your message to our IT department who will be looking into this. Please check back for updates as we strive to improve our logistics to accommodate Home Delivery.

Yes agreed! I was just thinking of how I might Venmo a delivery person. We appreciate their work and want to show them.

Couldn't agree more! In luxury buildings where you guys are delivering in Jersey City, they are not even allowed to come up for delivery.  We will try to leave an envelope with cash, but it's hard because your timeframe for delivery is so large.  Can't be too hard to have a venmo account :)

Adding my agreement to this - I'd love to Venmo our driver! Thanks for checking into it!

Unfortunately, our IT department has not been able to implement a regulated tipping service as of yet. I'll keep monitoring for any updates and keep you all informed.

Other delivery services just have their people with personal venmo accounts, you can consider that :)

Yes also would love to be able to tip instead of cash. I’m sure the drivers would receive more tips that way as well - some of us just can’t get to the Atm at times, but still want to provide a sufficient tip. Thanks!

Another vote here for an option to tip online. Not easy for me to get cash right now.

Every other delivery service in NYC has quickly figured out either how to provide a tip field on the site or (see: small microbreweries) operate a venmo account for delivery workers OR send the delivery worker's venmo handle at time of delivery. There is no excuse for this. Those of us who have sheltered in place for over a month do not have cash but value our delivery workers. If Torch and Crown can do it, so can you.

Joining others here to reaffirm the importance of being able to tip electronically.

Dear Baldor Team - please help - you have proven to be extremely capable in adopting to the times. please take this small but very important step for the safety and well-being of your very hard working personnel during these challenging times (try lifting heavy boxes while wearing a mask and you'll understand why tipping should be made readily available).

Is there any way to ID who our past delivery people have been and tip retroactively?
